What are the Objectives/Aims of Language Across the Curriculum?
The Objectives of Language across the Curriculum is given below
- To ensure language development in each and every child is the main aim of LAC.
- Another aim of LAC is to ensure language development in four basic language skills- listening, speaking, reading, writing.
- To help in the development of academic or vocational proficiency of the students.
- To ensure acquiring of conceptual literacy is the another aim of LAC.
- To enhance knowledge acquisition through awareness of language used.
- To enable the students to manage the diverse discourse functions for satisfactory participation in the relevant activity.
- To give the children feedback about their progress.
- To ensure language development of all the eight modes of human activities in language namely- Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Viewing, Shaping, Watching and Moving.
- Encourage students to incorporate language and cultural knowledge into discipline specific research.
- Use the language to teach more effectively and help students to learn more effectively.
- To help in the development of active, constructive and potentially autonomous learning.
