What are the Objectives/Aims of Language Across the Curriculum?

     The Objectives of Language across the Curriculum is given below



  1. To ensure language development in each and every child is the main aim of LAC.
  2. Another aim of LAC is to ensure language development in four basic language skills- listening, speaking, reading, writing.
  3. To help in the development of academic or vocational proficiency of the students.
  4. To ensure acquiring of conceptual literacy is the another aim of LAC. 
  5. To enhance knowledge acquisition through awareness of language used.
  6. To enable the students to manage the diverse discourse functions for satisfactory participation in the relevant activity.
  7. To give the children feedback about their progress.
  8. To ensure language development of all the eight modes of human activities in language namely- Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Viewing, Shaping, Watching and Moving.
  9. Encourage students to incorporate language and cultural knowledge into discipline specific research.
  10. Use the language to teach more effectively and help students to learn more effectively.
  11. To help in the development of active, constructive and potentially autonomous learning.
